If you are planning a holiday from the UK to Pattaya and want to hire a car or a motorcycle now is the time to prepare! You will need an International Driving Permit. The driving license issued by DVLA does not allow you to drive in Thailand. The AA or the RAC issue them. They last for one year and are renewable. If you have an International Driving Permit you are legally entitled to drive here in Thailand. For those of you who will be driving a motorcycle it is a legal requirement to wear a safety helmet. Also when on a motorcycle it is a requirement to wear a shirt or top of some kind. Please carry a copy of your rental agreement and International Permit whilst driving. I wish you Happy Driving
